The EC management plan is evaluated and updated annually and as needed.

Each site has a Safety Officer, Site Manager, and alternates.

They are responsible for conducting monthly inspections that are entered into Risk Management and forwarded to Benita Johnson, the Organizational Improvement Specialist.

Smoking is prohibited in all CHC buildings. There are designated smoking areas outside of Kirkpatrick Family Center and the IDD group homes.

Emergency exercises for ALL LOCATIONS are conducted semi-annually.

Disaster (evacuation, fire, and tornado) drills are conducted at least once a year in all facilites, in addition to the two emergency exercises. The frequency of such drills varies by location.

For Residential Facilities:

• Fire Drill: 1 per shift per month

• Disaster Drill: 1 per quarter

For Administration, Behavioral Health Units, and Day Habilitation

• Fire Drill: 1 per quarter

• Disaster Drill: Annually

For HCS Host Companion Care

• Fire Drill: 1 per month

• Disaster Drill: 1 quarterly
